Thereafter, Bobbe Duvall made contact with the core group and became an essential part. D'Ann began pouring her research and that of the others into her computer database. Jack, Anne, George and D'Ann took frequent trips to libraries all over the country to gather more information and verify the oral history which had permeated some family lines. It was discovered by comparing estate, land, tax, census, county, state and vital records that some oral history floating around was erroneous. The Anderson County, South Carolina group had been promoting George Chamblee of Wake as their progenitor when in actuality it was precisely proven it was Robert Chamblee. It became the mission of this group to correct all records and to gain a better understanding of these families.
A newsletter was started and circulated but as technology was rapidly changing a large website evolved where it was hoped that people would do genealogy on their own 2nd 3rd, 4th, 5th great grandparents, correct and contribute information to the datatebase and then link their sites to the main site. Unfortunately, it didn't work that way. Because of copyright problems and breeches of ethics, the history and photo section has been moved to a password only research site for those seriously interested in contributing and researching these families.
Brief ancestral overview (proven): Robert Chamblee was probably born about 1740 in VA or in Chowan or Bertie County, North Carolina. He eventually migrated to Wake Co where he died there about 1819. His descendents migrated to Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina, Georgia, etc. Jacob Chamlee was perhaps a brother or relative. Because of service in the Revolutionary War, he was granted a military warrant east Tennessee (North Carolina did not grant land in their own state). Jacob lived in Tennessee for a few years and then migrated to South Carolina to join other relatives. Isaac Chamblee was most likely a brother of Robert and George Chamblee. His children migrated to South Carolina with a son of Robert Chamblee and with George Chamblee. George Chamblee might have been a brother to Isaac and Robert Chamblee and lived in Wake Co NC prior to going bankrupt and migrating to South Carolina

Back Story: In the early 1990's, D'Ann Stoddard made contact with Anne Chamlee and Jack Chamblee through correspondence of George Chamblee. D'Ann, Jack and George came from the line of Robert Chamblee and Anne's husband from Jacob Chamlee. By sharing their research, comparing notes and focusing on various aspects of the records, it was determined that all Chamblee, Chamlee, Shamley, Shamblee, Chambley, etc., individuals in the United States were actually related through early migrations of families from Europe to America. (The NYC 1850 census reflects individuals by this name who are not connected to the larger group).
